85. White Forest+White Treehollow

White Forest (white2)

White Forest has changed from how it was in the original White version. Although it is still quaint and peaceful, there are no longer patches of tall grass or pools of water for you to fight wild Pokemon in, but instead there is a giant treehollow — the White Treehollow — in the northern part of town for you to test your skills as a Trainer against. It is similar to Mt. Battle in Pokemon Colosseum or Pokemon XD in the sense that you have to fight through an area, but don't get to heal until you reach a new area.
As you pass through the areas, you'll unlock shops outside where you can buy things each day in White Forest.
  • After clearing Area 2, you can buy a Leaf Stone on weekdays and a DeepSeaTooth on weekends for $1,000.
  • After clearing Area 5, you can buy a Water Stone on weekdays and a DeepSeaScale on weekends for $2,000.
  • After clearing Area 8, you can buy a Shiny Stone on weekdays and a Dragon Scale on weekends for $4,000.
  • After clearing Area 10, you can buy an Oval Stone on weekdays and a King's Rock on weekends for $6,000.
All of those items can be purchased only once per day.
Inside of the White Treehollow is where your real challenge lies...

White Treehollow

White Treehollow

There are a total of 10 areas in the White Treehollow. You can't use items while you're inside (other than held items), or even go into your bag, but you do gain EXP and some money from each battle, making it a good place to train in. You won't be able to heal, but you don't have to clear all 10 areas in a row; once you've cleared one, you'll be taken outside, healed, and are then able to visit the next area or revisit a previous one.
The areas and Trainers inside are random, aside from the Boss Trainers, who remain the same every time. In each area, you need to track down the Gate Trainer, who will unlock the gate to the Boss Trainer, who you must fight in order to clear the area. You may also find a Nurse or Doctor to heal your Pokemon up if you can win against them, but keep in mind they will heal your Pokemon only once per trip through the area, so you should save their healing for a time when you need it.

Key to the City

After you've cleared Area 5, you'll receive the Treehollow Key that unlocks White Treehollow. While this may not be important to you if you are playing White 2, which is where you unlock the key in, it can be sent to a Black 2 version using the Key System's Send & Receive Keys feature to grant them access to White Forest and White Treehollow, which are not normally accessible.
